Define might not have been if it were not for an ex girlfriend, lots of beers, and a mutual love of art. These were the circumstances under which Define was created.

Founders Mike Stramaglio and Walt Mendez could not be anymore different. Mike hails from the suburbs of north Jersey, just outside NYC, and Walt was raised in MidCity Los Angeles. As their friendship grew, they soon realized that they had a similar artistic vision. Though they differ stylistically in their approach to design, it’s precisely that creative tension which has given birth to their unique street-savvy apparel.

Street art, punk ethos, and DIY mentality are the cornerstones that comprise the makeup of Define. Define is a social work in progress intended to celebrate the artist with nothing to lose and complete freedom of expression. Define isn’t a brand…it’s a conscious state consisting of fashion, culture, and soul.
